Julie Covington is inspired by the wild and wonderful artists, farmers and musicians all around her and beyond. Working from her home studio in Weaverville NC, she creates simple, functional tableware that is equally at home on an intimate dinner table or on the floor of an old pick-up truck. Her stoneware forms are decorated using a wax resist technique (similar to batik). Patterns such a circles, vines and swirls move gracefully across surfaces that are glazed in earthy greens, blues, golds, yellows and warm whites.
